La Easter Feria – 6-9 April 2012,

his Feria kicks off the French bullfighting season and attracts 500,000 visitors who join the 50,000 aficionados (enthusiasts) in the Roman arenas to watch the bullfights. This festival is followed by the Feria du Riz (rice festival), which takes place from 7 to 9 September 2012.

Whitsun Feria in Nîmes - 23-28 May 2012

This is a six-day festival during Whitsun and three days in September when you can watch bullfights, abrivados and bandidos (the driving of the bulls to and from the arena respectively), listen to the wandering pênas (fanfares), dance the sevillanas in the bodegas until the early hours, eat paella in a Camarguan (or Sevillian) village, enjoy the concerts, watch the jousts on the Fontaine canal, stroll through the evening markets, go and listen to the Provençal Mass at the cathedral, or attend the Pégoulade, the Whitsun Feria’s opening parade…
